7o.) Dave

Dave was wandering through a maze of similar-looking alleyways. He'd been doing so for the past half-hour or so, and had yet to see any DaCre. The frequent bursts of gunfire in the distance almost seemed to be mocking him. He was, in short, annoyed.

The source of the signal had moved away even as he'd approached, faster than he could run. That had been bloody annoying. He'd have gone back to find Rick if he hadn't seen the second signal. It had been coming from the direction of the alley. He'd been following it for all this time to no avail. He was beginning to think the helmet was broken.

He bashed his riot shield against a random old worn door, breaking it off its hinges, and kicked over a rubbish can. It didn't help much.

Dave slowly turned around to look in the door. He blinked.

"Er... hello." he said, backing away from the door. Suddenly taking on a DaCre by yourself didn't seem to attractive. He brought his riot shield up slightly, a glassy smile fixed on his face.

The falconess took a stance, before kicking off and darting forward at Dave, heading straight for him, feet above the ground as she took low flight, using one hand to cover the face, the other open and outstreched, intending to clench around Dave's figure, and pin him to the opposite wall, outside in the alley. Putting up the shield would only offer minor resistance to this strike.

Dave threw himself forward and to the left, past the DaCre's right side, shoving the shield out at the falconess. The hand reaching for his face was on the opposite side, putting him out of reach, and the other hand would meet his riot shield.

He would follow to roll to his feet if he wasn't struck down, facing the falconess.

The falconess swung her other arm out, slamming against the shield and denting it, with enough force to send Dave sailing into the left-wall, somewhat behind the falconess. She wasn't playing at full strength; however, she wasn't leaving herself overly vulnerable either.

Dave was hit by the backhand of the falconess, sending him flying into the left wall of the room containing the portal.

He dropped a half inch, plaster cascading from his back, facing the falconess. Purple and white lights flashed across his eyes. He took a step away from the DaCre, before turning and running...

... into the portal.
